The Spiritual Significance of Mother’s Day

May 8, 2025 By Terry Swejkoski Leave a Comment

The Spiritual Significance of Mother’s DayMother’s Day is far more than a day for flowers and breakfast in bed. It is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and honor the sacred bond between a mother and her child. Beyond the gestures of appreciation lies a profound spiritual significance that connects us to the universal essence of nurturing, selflessness, and unconditional love.

Motherhood as a Divine Manifestation

Motherhood embodies the purest form of divine energy. Across many spiritual traditions, the mother archetype is seen as an extension of the Creator’s nurturing force. She is the vessel through which life comes into being, the teacher who guides with wisdom, and the protector who provides sanctuary.

When we honor mothers, we also affirm the sanctity of life and recognize the spiritual act of creation. A mother’s capacity to love unconditionally, guide selflessly, and nurture endlessly reflects the divine energy that sustains the cosmos.

A Day for Gratitude and Reflection

Mother’s Day allows us to connect with gratitude on a deeper level. It encourages us to remember not just the physical sacrifices and hard work that mothers devote, but also the spiritual gifts they bring into our lives. These gifts can appear as:

  • Patience in the face of challenges
  • Wisdom shared through life’s trials
  • Unwavering support and belief in our potential

By offering gratitude to our mothers, we elevate our spiritual vibrations, aligning ourselves with the virtues of love, humility, and compassion.

If your mother is no longer with you or if you grew up without a maternal figure, this day can still be meaningful. Reflecting on the universal motherly energy surrounding us can open your heart to how life nurtures and sustains you.

Nurturing as a Universal Energy

Motherhood extends beyond biology. It is a state of being expressed through anyone who cultivates love, care, and growth in others. Teachers, mentors, friends, and even strangers who offer guidance and compassion embody this universal nurturing energy.

Similarly, we are all called to share the spirit of motherhood by becoming nurturers of our communities, the environment, and ourselves. This cyclical nature of giving and receiving care creates harmony in the universe and connects us all in an unbroken chain of love.

A Spiritual Practice for Mother’s Day

Take this opportunity to deepen your connection to your earthly and spiritual mother by practicing mindful gratitude. Here is a simple exercise you can do:

  • Find a peaceful space where you can sit quietly.
  • Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, centering yourself in the present moment.
  • Reflect on how your mother, or a maternal figure, has nurtured you. Picture these moments vividly, allowing yourself to feel the love and care they offered.
  • Silently or out loud, express your gratitude. You might say, “Thank you for the love and sacrifice that have shaped me into who I am today.”
  • Share these reflections with your mother or a maternal figure. If they have passed on, you may light a candle in their honor and send your thanks into the universe.

Closing Feelings

Mother’s Day is an invitation to honor the individual mother and the sacred lesson of motherhood itself. It reminds us to nurture one another, to love without condition, and to recognize the divine presence in selfless acts of care.

To all mothers reading this, we honor you for what you do and the profound spiritual essence you embody. You are a living testament to the divine.

May this Mother’s Day bring you serenity, love, and a renewed sense of purpose in your sacred role.

Happy Mother’s Day!

When You Love an Angry Person

May 3, 2025 By lynnenamka Leave a Comment

People from all over the world write to me, mostly women but sometimes it is a man, asking about what they can do to help their family member, loved one or partner “control” his or her anger. Or how they can help “diffuse” their partner’s anger. They say that their partner is “such a good guy” and his only flaw is his “anger problem.” Or they feel sorry for their out-of-control child or abusive parent. The intention to help is good but it is misplaced as it enables the angry person to stay as he is. This article is my response to the letters I’ve received where one person wants to take responsibility for another person’s problem of anger.

I use the pronoun “he” in this article as research shows that men are more angry than women. The research shows that men are angrier than women. Women have structural differences in their brain that work with emotions, so that women can more easily inhibit the anger response. The higher testosterone level revs up in men and sets the stage for more aggression.

Spiritual Guide Awareness

May 1, 2025 By Terry Swejkoski Leave a Comment

“Can anyone be a Spiritual Guide?” is more of a statement than a question because we are all One, and each one of us channels spiritual messages to one another in the spiritual realm of reality. We are all teachers and students, as well.

Spiritual guide awareness occurs when one consciously focuses on bringing the Spiritual Body reality to one’s life. As you grow in spiritual awareness of your True Self, you will understand the meaning of life and align yourself with only those on the same path as you are, as both a spiritual seeker and spiritual teacher. Spiritual awareness will empower you to move forward with your Original Source Agreement from a level of understanding observed as Knowing. When you know the spiritual truth about life, you begin to understand the futility of what the ego attempts to present as truth.

Appropriate Boundaries for Healthy Relationships

April 27, 2025 By lynnenamka Leave a Comment

An appropriate boundary is that invisible line that separates you from the rest of the world. Appropriate Boundary SettingWithin your boundary is that personal space where you feel safe and secure. In healthy relationships, where neither person needs to control the other, both partners understand fairness and the other person’s needs. They grant each other the right to have psychological space and look out for small ways to create happiness for the other person. However, some may choose to abuse this fundamental right.

The Meaning of Easter from a Spiritual Perspective

April 12, 2025 By Terry Swejkoski 2 Comments

Easter is typically viewed as a Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament of the Bible. It is considered the most important and joyful event in the Christian calendar, symbolizing hope, renewal, and the victory of life over death.

However, Easter’s much deeper spiritual meaning provides conscious clarity that transcends the limited perspective of only one religion’s viewpoint.

The Spiritual Meaning of Easter: Renewal, Hope, and Togetherness

Easter is a time of profound meaning and celebration, embodying renewal, hope, and connection themes. It represents a spiritual awakening, an opportunity to reflect on new beginnings, and a reminder of the beauty of transformation. Whether you observe it through religious traditions like Christ Consciousness or as a celebration of spring’s arrival, Easter holds a special place in the hearts of many.

The Significance of Easter

At its core, Easter signifies the triumph of light over darkness, life over death, and hope over despair. For Christians, it marks the resurrection of Jesus into the Christ Consciousness, symbolizing faith and eternal life. Beyond its spiritual essence, Easter is also a celebration of the changing seasons, as nature awakens after the dormancy of winter.

This season resonates with a universal message of renewal. It gently asks us to pause, shed old layers, and allow ourselves to grow into something brighter and better. It encourages us to nurture our inner light and connect more deeply with our Highest Self and one another through the unity of Oneness.

Who Am I

April 11, 2025 By Greg Tharpe Leave a Comment

Who Am I – We all have two sides: a physical (human, visible) side, and a spiritual (God, invisible) side; we are the coexistence of both sides. The human side is in tune with the wants, desires, and needs of our physical body and the world. This is the negative/ego side of us, it must be controlled, or it will easily get caught up in the world. It is also the destructible side and is vulnerable to death.
