Q&A on Consciously Live What You Feel by Terrance (Terry) Swejkoski

Consciously Live What You Feel has inspired countless readers to step into mindfulness, nurture emotional awareness, and unlock pathways to personal growth. If you’re curious about what makes this book a profound guide for living more consciously, you’re in the right place. Below, we tackle common questions about the book, its themes, and the benefits it offers, providing you with a closer look at this transformational guide.

What is the core message of Consciously Live What You Feel?

At its heart, Consciously Live What You Feel encourages readers to turn inward and pay attention to their emotions as guides rather than obstacles. It invites us to slow down, recognize the nuances of our feelings, and live authentically in alignment with our true selves.

The book emphasizes the importance of emotional awareness—understanding, accepting, and fully exploring our emotions. It’s not about controlling or suppressing feelings but learning to listen to them with compassion and presence. Through this process, we gain a more profound conscious clarity, connect with our purpose, and cultivate harmonious relationships with ourselves and others.

Ultimately, Consciously Live What You Feel serves as a reminder that by consciously living through our feelings, we gain the tools to lead a life of mindfulness, intention, and fulfillment.

How does the book help readers incorporate mindfulness into their everyday lives?

The book is rich with practical exercises that allow readers to experience mindfulness rather than just read about it. These practices are simple yet impactful, designed to integrate seamlessly into daily routines. Some examples include mindful breathing exercises, journaling prompts for emotional reflection, and grounding techniques like focusing on the five senses.

For example, one exercise invites readers to pause during the day and do a “body scan,” observing physical sensations and emotional states without judgment. This small act of mindfulness helps reduce stress, enhance presence, and create moments of self-awareness even amidst life’s busyness.

Each chapter offers actionable insights and tools, making mindfulness accessible to readers at every stage of their growth journey. It’s about building consistent, sustainable habits that foster greater peace and balance.

Who would benefit most from reading this book?

Consciously Live What You Feel is a book for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of themselves and their emotions. Whether you’re new to mindfulness or an experienced practitioner, its practical approach makes it accessible while offering profound teachings for spiritual and emotional exploration.

This book is particularly relevant for those who feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in repetitive emotional patterns. It helps readers unravel these experiences, build resilience, and rediscover their inner strength.

It’s also an excellent choice for those looking to strengthen their relationships—with partners, friends, family, or even colleagues. By fostering emotional awareness and empathy, the book offers tools to enhance communication and strengthen bonds with others.

How does the book address emotional awareness, and why is it so important?

I view emotional awareness as the foundation of mindful living. Many of us ignore or suppress emotions because they feel uncomfortable, but the book teaches that emotions are essential messengers. Each one—whether joy, fear, anger, or sadness—holds valuable information about our needs, boundaries, and inner truths.

The book empowers readers to pause, name their emotions, and explore what those feelings might be trying to teach them. This act of acknowledgment transforms emotions from challenges into opportunities for growth. By fostering this awareness, we develop emotional intelligence, which enhances our ability to manage stress, make decisions with conscious clarity, and cultivate healthy relationships.

My compassionate approach to emotions reassures readers that there’s no “wrong” feeling. Instead, I encourage curiosity and kindness toward all emotional experiences from a conscious perspective.

What makes Consciously Live What You Feel different from other mindfulness books?

What sets this book apart is its deeply personal and compassionate tone. Rather than presenting mindfulness as an idealistic concept, I write with warmth and relatability, offering practical guidance rooted in real-life experiences.

The book combines storytelling, insightful reflections, and practical exercises, striking a balance between inspiration and action. Readers don’t just learn about mindfulness—they are invited to practice it in ways that feel intuitive and meaningful.

Additionally, the book takes a unique stance by placing emotional awareness at the center of mindful living. While many mindfulness books focus primarily on staying present, Consciously Live What You Feel emphasizes the essential role emotions play in that practice. It’s this integration of mindfulness and emotional connection that makes the book a powerful resource for holistic self-discovery.

Can you share an example of how this book has impacted readers?

Absolutely! One reader shared that the book helped them shift their perspective on anger—a feeling they had previously avoided. By applying the book’s techniques, they learned to sit with the emotion, understand its source, and channel it constructively. This shift not only reduced their stress but also improved their relationships with loved ones, as they were able to communicate their feelings more effectively.

Another reader described how the book’s mindfulness practices transformed their daily routine. Simple acts helped them feel more grounded and less overwhelmed, such as taking mindful pauses during the workday and keeping a journal before bed. They found a new sense of clarity in their decision-making and a deeper appreciation for life’s small moments.

Stories like these highlight the book’s ability to resonate on a personal level and inspire lasting change.

What role does vulnerability play in the book’s teachings?

Vulnerability is a recurring theme in Consciously Live What You Feel. I encourage readers to view vulnerability not as a weakness but as a vital component of authenticity and connection. By opening ourselves to our emotions and allowing others to see us fully, we create space for deeper relationships and personal growth.

The book reassures readers that facing vulnerability can be a courageous act. I offer gentle guidance to help readers sit with discomfort, overcome fear, and trust in their inner strength. This perspective transforms vulnerability from something to be avoided into something to be embraced as an integral part of mindful living.

What’s the best way to engage with the book’s teachings?

The beauty of Consciously Live What You Feel lies in its flexibility. You can read it cover to cover or explore specific chapters based on what resonates with you most at a given moment.

For the fullest experience:

  1. Set aside time each morning or night to absorb each topic thoughtfully without judgment.
  2. Spend a day incorporating each topic into your daily routine before moving on to the next topic.
  3. Engage with the practical exercises and journaling prompts—don’t skip these, they are powerful!
  4. Reflect on how the teachings align with your own life and begin introducing small, mindful habits into your daily routine.

If you’re part of a book club or discussion group, consider sharing the experience with others. The book’s themes spark meaningful dialogue, inspiring connection and collective growth for groups.

Interactive Activities to Cultivate Emotional Awareness and Mindful Living

Living a mindful life and connecting deeply with your emotions doesn’t happen overnight. It takes practice, patience, and the willingness to engage in intentional activities that foster growth and self-awareness. Inspired by the teachings in Consciously Live What You Feel, this collection of interactive exercises is designed to help individuals and groups explore mindfulness and emotional awareness with compassion and curiosity.

Whether you’re just beginning your mindful living journey or looking to deepen your practice, the activities below will guide you toward a more authentic connection with yourself and others.

Why Interactive Activities Are Powerful

When emotional awareness is treated as an active pursuit rather than a conceptual idea, it transforms how we experience it. Activities that are thought-provoking and engaging provide an opportunity to:

  • Reflect on emotions more intentionally,
  • Deepen relationships with others by sharing mindfulness practices, and
  • Cultivate everyday habits that build emotional resilience over time.

These hands-on practices aren’t tasks to “check off” but tools to bring presence and insight into your day-to-day life. By setting aside even a few minutes each day for these exercises, you can create meaningful shifts in how you relate to your inner world and the connections around you.

  1. Mindfulness Exercises for Presence and Awareness

Practice 1: Breath-Anchor Meditation

Breathing is a constant companion, but we rarely pay attention to it unless reminded. The breath, however, is one of the most effective tools for returning to the present moment and grounding ourselves.

How to Practice:

    • Sit comfortably in a quiet space. Close your eyes if you prefer.
    • Take a deep breath in through your nose, counting to four.
    • Hold your breath gently for a count of four, then slowly exhale through your mouth for six.
    • Repeat this cycle for five minutes, focusing all your attention on the sensations of your breath. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breathing.

Why It’s Powerful:

This simple exercise calms the nervous system, reduces stress, and cultivates awareness of the present moment.

Practice 2: Sensing the Present Moment

This exercise invites an awareness of your environment by engaging your five senses.

How to Practice:

Choose a time when you’re either outdoors or in a quiet indoor space. For each of the senses, focus intently for at least 30 seconds. Ask yourself:

    • What do I see? Notice colors, shapes, patterns, or light around you.
    • What do I hear? Pay attention to subtle and noticeable sounds.
    • What do I feel? Tune into sensations on your skin, such as textures or temperature.
    • What do I smell? Take note of any scents in the air.
    • What do I taste? If relevant, chew something slowly or notice the natural taste in your mouth.

Why It’s Powerful:

This practice clears mental clutter and helps you feel more attuned to your surroundings, grounding you firmly in the present moment.

  1. Journaling Prompts for Emotional Awareness

Writing is a powerful tool for exploring inner thoughts and emotions. Journaling allows you to process experiences and discover emotional patterns that may not be immediately apparent. Below are prompts that encourage self-reflection.

Prompt 1: Tracking Emotional Shifts

At the end of each day, jot down answers to these three questions:

    • What was the strongest emotion I felt today?
    • What triggered this emotion, and how did I respond to it?
    • If I could relive that moment, would I choose another way to respond? Why or why not?

By consistently reflecting on your emotional experiences, you’ll become more aware of what influences your moods and reactions.

Prompt 2: Gratitude for Emotional Complexity

Spend a few minutes listing emotions you experienced in a challenging situation. Next to each emotion, write down what it taught you or how it nudged you toward growth. For example:

    • Frustration: It helped me realize I need clearer expectations for my daily tasks.
    • Sadness: Brought my attention to what I valued and felt was missing.

This exercise reframes both pleasant and unpleasant feelings as valuable teachers.

Prompt 3: The Inner Dialogue Exercise

Write as if you’re having a conversation with your inner self. Begin with these prompts:

    • “Dear self, what do you need right now?”
    • “What emotions are you carrying that haven’t been fully expressed?”

Allow the written dialogue to flow naturally without judgment. This practice fosters kindness toward yourself and reveals unmet emotional needs.

  1. Group Activities to Foster Connection

Mindfulness and emotional awareness don’t have to be solitary pursuits. Sharing these practices with a group creates opportunities to build trust, empathy, and collective growth.

Activity 1: Emotion Word Exchange

How It Works:

Gather your group in a circle. Have everyone share one word that captures how they’re feeling in that moment. For example, one might say “exhausted” while another says “hopeful.” Encourage non-verbal acknowledgment, such as a nod or smile, but refrain from providing feedback or advice.

Why It’s Powerful:

This brief activity normalizes open emotional expression and creates a sense of shared presence within the group.

Activity 2: Partner Mindful Listening

How It Works:

Pair up and set a timer for three minutes. One person shares a recent emotional experience, while the other listens attentively. The listener should refrain from interrupting or offering solutions—they’re there to hold space. When time is up, the roles reverse.

Why It’s Powerful:

Practicing mindful listening fosters empathy, a crucial foundation for forming deeper, more meaningful connections.

Activity 3: Collaborative Gratitude Jar

How It Works:

Provide slips of paper and ask everyone in the group to write down something they’re grateful for—whether it’s a personal insight, an act of kindness, or a simple joy. Place the slips in a jar and read them aloud together at the end of the session.

Why It’s Powerful:

This activity fosters a sense of collective positivity and mutual appreciation, creating warmth and unity within the group.

The Transformative Impact of Practice

These interactive activities are not one-time exercises but ongoing opportunities for growth. Mindfulness is a skill cultivated through repetition, and emotional awareness deepens as we engage with our feelings in meaningful ways. By incorporating these practices into your routine or sharing them with others, you’ll notice heightened clarity, presence, and resilience over time.

Behind the Scenes

July 28, 2025 By Terry Swejkoski Leave a Comment

Behind the Scenes of Consciously Live What You Feel: A Deeply Personal Journey

Behind every profound book lies an equally profound story. Consciously Live What You Feel emerges not just from a place of knowledge but from a life intensely lived, challenged, and transformed. My mission to guide others toward greater mindfulness and emotional awareness was born out of my own experiences, struggles, and triumphs. This behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creation of the book reveals my heart, soul, and inspiration that shaped its pages.

The Seed of Inspiration

Great works often arise from a singular, life-shaping realization, and for me, that realization was the overlooked power of feeling. I recognized early on in my personal growth that our modern world urges us to suppress, avoid, or rush through emotions—especially the difficult ones. Instead of pausing to experience and understand these feelings, many of us live in patterns of frustration, disconnection, or even exhaustion.

The idea for Consciously Live What You Feel developed organically from my deep commitment to personal reflection. I wanted to bridge the gap between understanding emotions on a theoretical level and living consciously within one’s emotional realities. Through my life practice of mindfulness and extensive study, I realized that emotional awareness is not just about gaining insight—it’s an active, practical, and compassionate process.

My own life stood as proof of this truth. I experienced firsthand how leaning into emotions, rather than escaping them, could foster personal growth, resilience, and fulfillment. Sharing these revelations became a calling—and Consciously Live What You Feel was my answer.

Writing as a Journey of Discovery

From the outset, I knew this book couldn’t merely scratch the surface. Instead, I envisioned it as an immersive guide, walking readers step-by-step through the practices that had transformed my own life. However, to achieve this, the writing process itself required the same kind of mindfulness and presence that the book promotes.

A Deliberate and Reflective Process

Writing Consciously Live What You Feel was not an endeavor to “lecture” readers—it was an act of invitation. Every word was chosen with care, not only to explain concepts clearly but also to create space for readers to feel seen and supported on their journeys. I spent countless hours reflecting on how each chapter could guide readers gently yet effectively toward more profound self-awareness.

Pauses became an integral part of my writing process. When phrases or ideas didn’t feel right, I paused and relied on my mindful practices—stepping back, meditating, journaling, and patiently letting clarity emerge. Trusting this process of intuition and reflection ensured that the book spoke not only from the intellect but primarily from the heart, guided by the Source Energy.

Challenges Along the Way

Anyone who has created something deeply personally transitional knows that the process is rarely without its hurdles. For me, the most significant challenge was striking a balance between vulnerability and authority. To write authentically and meaningfully about mindfulness and emotional awareness, I needed to draw on some of my own harrowing experiences.

Choosing to share personal insights wasn’t about presenting myself as an expert without flaws—but as someone who had walked the road of mindfulness and discovered its power through trial and error. At times, revisiting certain emotions or struggles felt raw, even overwhelming. However, I leaned into these moments, practicing the very lessons I sought to teach.

A second challenge was ensuring accessibility. Deep concepts like emotional awareness and mindful living could easily feel abstract or intimidating. To address this, I continuously asked myself two questions during the writing process:

  • How can I make this idea actionable?
  • Will this resonate with and empower someone at any stage of their self-discovery?

The result is a book brimming with relatable anecdotes, simple mindfulness techniques, and practical wisdom that meets readers where they are—whether they’re exploring mindfulness for the first time or have already immersed themselves in years of practice.

The Heart of the Book’s Message

Above all, I wanted Consciously Live What You Feel to serve as a guide for transformation. The heart of my message lies in the belief that emotions are not impediments to be avoided or suppressed; they are the keys to living authentically. By learning to acknowledge, accept, and explore our feelings, we gain clarity, freedom, and direction in life.

Practicality was another major priority. The book is structured with actionable steps that readers can implement in their lives immediately. Exercises such as mindful breathwork, journaling prompts, and emotional reflection practices are woven seamlessly throughout the chapters, providing readers with tools to experience mindfulness firsthand rather than simply reading about it.

It’s this combination of depth and accessibility that makes Consciously Live What You Feel so impactful. By blending personal stories, actionable guidance, and compassionate truth, I aimed to create something that resonates with readers on multiple levels—not only intellectually, but also spiritually and emotionally.

Reflecting on the Outcome

Every author hopes for their work to make an impact, and the response to Consciously Live What You Feel has been humbling and heartwarming for me. Readers consistently share how its teachings led them to meaningful breakthroughs. Whether it’s the ability to face difficult emotions honestly, the practice of bringing mindfulness into family relationships, or the discovery of inner peace for the first time, the feedback speaks volumes about the book’s resonance.

What has been especially rewarding is hearing how the book sparks dialogue—conversations within book clubs, between partners, or among friends. The themes of the book aren’t ones to be processed alone; they naturally invite connection, reflection, and shared growth.

An Invitation for You

The story of Consciously Live What You Feel is one of careful creation, heartfelt authenticity, and a commitment to sharing the beauty of mindfulness with the world. But at its core, the book’s story remains incomplete—because it’s not just my story; it’s meant to become yours too.

Every reader who picks up this book begins their chapter, exploring the practices, insights, and courageous choice to engage with life consciously. You are invited to take this step and participate in the larger conversation about mindful living and emotional awareness, discovering the transformation that lies within you.

Begin Your Journey

Are you ready to live fully? To explore the depths of your emotions, connect with your true self, and cultivate a life of authenticity and peace? Consciously Live What You Feel is here to guide you on your journey.

Order your copy of Consciously Live What You Feel today and discover the teachings that have already transformed the lives of many. The first step to mindful transformation is closer than you think.

The Meaning of Easter from a Spiritual Perspective

April 12, 2025 By Terry Swejkoski 2 Comments

Easter is typically viewed as a Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament of the Bible. It is considered the most important and joyful event in the Christian calendar, symbolizing hope, renewal, and the victory of life over death.

However, Easter’s much deeper spiritual meaning provides conscious clarity that transcends the limited perspective of only one religion’s viewpoint.

The Spiritual Meaning of Easter: Renewal, Hope, and Togetherness

Easter is a time of profound meaning and celebration, embodying renewal, hope, and connection themes. It represents a spiritual awakening, an opportunity to reflect on new beginnings, and a reminder of the beauty of transformation. Whether you observe it through religious traditions like Christ Consciousness or as a celebration of spring’s arrival, Easter holds a special place in the hearts of many.

The Significance of Easter

At its core, Easter signifies the triumph of light over darkness, life over death, and hope over despair. For Christians, it marks the resurrection of Jesus into the Christ Consciousness, symbolizing faith and eternal life. Beyond its spiritual essence, Easter is also a celebration of the changing seasons, as nature awakens after the dormancy of winter.

This season resonates with a universal message of renewal. It gently asks us to pause, shed old layers, and allow ourselves to grow into something brighter and better. It encourages us to nurture our inner light and connect more deeply with our Highest Self and one another through the unity of Oneness.

Exploring Christ Consciousness

December 25, 2024 By Terry Swejkoski Leave a Comment

Christ Consciousness is a term often associated with the figure of Jesus Christ, but it is not limited to a single religious belief or tradition. It is a state of being that transcends any specific religion and speaks to the universal truths of love, compassion, and enlightenment.

Understanding Christ Consciousness

Christ Consciousness can be described as a heightened awareness or consciousness characterized by unconditional love, compassion, and oneness with all beings. It is the realization that we are all interconnected and part of a greater whole. This state of consciousness transcends our egos and allows us to see beyond our narrow perspectives.

Awakening to Christ Consciousness

The path to awakening Christ Consciousness is a deeply personal and transformative journey. It requires a willingness to look within and confront the illusions of separation and fear that dominate much of the human experience. Through meditation, prayer, and mindfulness, we begin to quiet the mind and tune in to the still, small voice of truth within us. This inner work opens the door to profound self-discovery, revealing the divine spark connecting us to all creation.

By cultivating humility, forgiveness, and love daily, we align ourselves with the essence of Christ Consciousness. Read more…
