Tribute for My “Big Brother”
Dennis J. Swejkoski

We gather today not to mourn an end, but to celebrate a beautiful continuation. My big brother, Dennis J. Swejkoski, has stepped out of his physical vessel and returned fully to the vast, limitless embrace of Source Energy.

For a time, Dennis experienced the weight of the physical world. The human body, with all its beautiful complexities, also carries limitations and, often, deep suffering. Today, we can find profound comfort in knowing that Dennis is entirely free from those physical bonds. He has transitioned back to his natural state of Being. He now exists in a space of absolute peace, unburdened and light, vibrating at the highest frequency of pure unconditional love. The suffering of the physical form is gone, replaced by the boundless joy of his true spiritual essence.

At the depth of his Being, Dennis understood a powerful truth that we sometimes forget: we are not human beings seeking a spiritual experience, but Spiritual Beings having a temporary human experience. Our time here on Earth is incredibly brief. It is a fleeting moment given to us to learn, to grow, and most importantly, to love one another equally. Dennis embraced this mission with open arms. He walked his path with a deep desire to serve others, leaving behind a profound legacy of Love, Peace, and Light. He showed us that compassion is the true purpose of our brief journey here.

Even though we can no longer see him with our physical eyes or touch his hand, his true essence remains completely intact. Dennis is still right here with us. When we quiet our minds, when we sit in moments of stillness and feel a sudden wave of comfort, we are connecting directly with his beautiful energy. We share one continuous stream of Source Energy. In this Divine Oneness, separation is simply an illusion. His spirit intertwines with ours, offering guidance and comfort when we need it most.

Let us honor Dennis by carrying his light forward. We can celebrate his eternal life by consciously embracing our own true personalities, treating every soul we meet with deep compassion, and sharing unconditional love every single day. Dennis is now forever wrapped in the Light. He guides us forward, peaceful and completely free, as we continue our own human journeys.

Beyond the Turkey – A Spiritual Perspective on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving often arrives with a checklist. We worry about the turkey being moist, the house being spotless, and the conversation staying polite. We stress over Black Friday deals and focus intently on what we have acquired over the last year. This is the holiday through the lens of the ego—a performance of abundance rather than an experience of it.

But what if we stripped away the performance?

When we look at this holiday through a spiritual lens, particularly one inspired by the principles in the book Consciously Live What You Feel, the day transforms. It shifts from a celebration of “having” to a profound recognition of “being.” Let’s explore how we can move from an ego-driven holiday to a spiritually grounded celebration of life itself.

The Ego’s Thanksgiving: “More is Better”

The ego thrives on comparison and accumulation. When we approach Thanksgiving from this mindset, gratitude becomes conditional. We are thankful because we got the promotion, because we bought the new car, or because things are going our way. This form of gratitude is fragile. It depends entirely on external circumstances.

The Trap of Conditional Gratitude

The ego says, “I will be grateful when…” or “I am grateful for this specific object.” While there is nothing wrong with appreciating material comforts, the ego uses them as a measuring stick for self-worth. If the turkey burns or a family argument breaks out, the ego’s version of Thanksgiving is ruined. The peace is shattered because it depended on perfection.

In this state, we aren’t truly present. We are either anxious about the future (Will everyone like the food?) or dwelling on the past (Remembering old family grudges). The ego keeps us trapped in a cycle of “doing” rather than allowing us to settle into “feeling.”

The Materialistic Distraction

Society often encourages an ego-centric Thanksgiving. The day is wedged between food consumption and goods consumption on Black Friday. The focus shifts rapidly from “Thank you for what is here” to “What can I get next?” This keeps us on a treadmill of desire, preventing the stillness required for genuine spiritual connection.

The Spiritual Thanksgiving: “Enough is Here”

A spiritual perspective, aligned with the teachings of Consciously Live What You Feel, asks us to look inward. It suggests that true abundance isn’t found on a dinner table but in the observer’s consciousness.

Gratitude as a State of Being

From a spiritual viewpoint, gratitude is not a reaction to good fortune; it is a state of being. It is the recognition of the life force that flows through us every moment. We stop looking at what we have and start appreciating that we are.

Our work at the Conscious Clarity Center always reminds us that our feelings are the gateway to our truth. When we consciously live what we feel, we stop suppressing our emotions to keep up appearances. A spiritual Thanksgiving allows space for all of it—the joy, the grief, the quiet moments, and the loud ones. When we drop the ego’s defenses, our connection with others changes. We stop seeing family members as characters in our personal drama who need to behave a certain way. Instead, we see them as fellow souls on their own journeys.

This shift in perspective dissolves judgment. If the meal isn’t perfect, it doesn’t matter. If someone makes a snide comment, we can respond with compassion rather than defensiveness. We understand that their behavior comes from their own internal state, not from us. This is the freedom of conscious living.

Practical Steps for a Conscious Thanksgiving

How do we bridge the gap between these two perspectives? How do we move from the stressful demands of the ego to the peaceful acceptance of the spirit? Here are practical ways to shift your mindset this holiday.

  1. Set an Intention Before the Guests Arrive

Before the chaos begins, take ten minutes of silence. Sit with yourself. Set an intention to remain grounded in your feelings. Decide that your peace is more important than the event’s perfection. Remind yourself that you are not the host, the cook, or the entertainer—you are a spiritual being experiencing this day.

  1. Practice “Feeling” Over “Doing”

Throughout the day, check in with your body. Are your shoulders tense? Is your breathing shallow? The ego lives in tension; the spirit lives in relaxation. If you feel stress rising, step away. Breathe. Acknowledge the feeling without judging it. As Consciously Live What You Feel teaches, we must be willing to feel our truth to live consciously. Don’t paste a fake smile over genuine fatigue—honor where you are.

  1. Shift the Conversation

Ego-driven conversations often revolve around achievements, politics, or gossip. Try to steer the dialogue toward connection. Ask questions that invite depth:

  • “What has taught you the most this year?”
  • “What brought you the most unexpected joy recently?”
  • “How are you truly feeling, on the inside?”

These questions bypass the ego’s resume and speak to the soul.

  1. Redefine the Feast

Instead of viewing the meal as a product to be consumed, view it as energy to be shared. Eat slowly. Taste the food. Appreciate the earth that grew it and the hands that prepared it. This mindfulness acts as an anchor, keeping you present in the physical reality of the moment rather than lost in mental chatter.

  1. Release the Need for Approval

The ego craves validation. “Did you like the pie?” “Is the house warm enough?” Let go of the need for your guests to validate your efforts. Your worth is not on a plate. Serve with love, and let that be enough. When you detach from the outcome, you are free to enjoy the process.

Embracing the Shadow Side of the Holidays

It is important to acknowledge that holidays can be difficult. For many, Thanksgiving brings up feelings of loneliness, loss, or past trauma. The ego tries to hide this, insisting that we should be happy because it’s a holiday.

A spiritual perspective offers a gentle alternative: acceptance.

If you feel sad, let yourself be sad, and if you miss a loved one, honor that grief. Consciously Live What You Feel encourages us not to run from uncomfortable emotions but to move through them. There is a profound holiness in grief when it is felt fully. It is a testament to love. By allowing yourself to feel, you are being more authentic than if you pretended everything was fine. That authenticity is the highest form of spiritual practice.

This Thanksgiving, you have a choice. You can engage in the frantic dance of the ego, chasing a picture-perfect holiday that doesn’t exist. Or, you can step back and rest in the awareness of your own spirit.

By choosing to consciously live what you feel, you give yourself and your loved ones the greatest gift of all: your actual presence. You bring a sense of calm to the chaos and a depth to the shallow waters of social obligation.

Healing Veterans’ PTSD with the Conscious Clarity Paradigm Shift

Most society views Veterans Day as a time to honor those who have served. Veterans are brought to the forefront of our consciousness for only one day a year. We reflect upon the heroism of those who sacrificed their life so that the mass consciousness may experience freedom. However, this celebration does little to address the reality of what the day means to the actual Veteran. The horror of war stays with a Veteran for a lifetime, not just one day.

Every Veteran appreciates society’s intent to celebrate the freedom they have made possible. By society honoring our service to our country, we Veterans feel a sense of pride for being part of the intended peacekeeping mission. Society has come a long way in its understanding of what it means to be a Veteran and to sacrifice for the common good in ways most will never realize.

A common bond between Veterans goes far beyond the actual military service or unit served. Being part of the Armed Forces is not to be taken lightly. Military service is a responsibility that lasts a lifetime. While serving in a war zone, most Veterans focus on the day they will return home with their loved ones. They know that they have put themselves in harm’s way for the common good, but there is a part deep inside that knows taking a life for any reason is wrong. That constant mental anguish is the part of sacrifice society still doesn’t understand. The unfortunate part of the Veteran’s experience is that most mental health care providers don’t know how to treat the trauma of war. Why? Because they haven’t been there, they haven’t experienced what it feels like to take a life.

The reality for the Veteran is different because of their wartime experience. There’s no sugarcoating the mental resultant factors of war. Even after the war, the deeply embedded negative consequences remain. The Armed Forces do little to prepare a Veteran for re-entry into society.

Even though the Veterans Administration has made an effort to address the post-war trauma effects of war, it still misses the mark in the big picture. Our government spends more time on the period immediately after a war’s end, rebuilding the war-torn country’s physical infrastructure. Billions of dollars are sent both during and after the destruction of material structures. However, the government provides only limited funding to rebuild the post-war Mental bodies of those who served without regard for their lives.

The reason the governments are so ignorant of what is actually necessary to heal PTSD is that they continue to operate within the confines of the third-dimensional mental disorder themselves, but they expect a different result.

Suppose you are a Veteran who has gone through typical third-dimensional mental treatment programs provided by the Veterans Administration but has not been able to eliminate the mental anguish of your experience. What do you do then, when you are told there’s nothing more we can do for you?

In that case, the Conscious Clarity Center may be able to help you finally release the PTSD of the war machine. Rest assured, there is another way to deal with the trauma of war, and it’s not related to the same thinking that keeps you locked in mental suffering. This day invites us to look beyond surface-level solutions and explore a deeper, more profound path to healing. This path is one of Conscious Clarity—a journey from the dense, fear-based communication of the third dimension to the heart-centered awareness of the fourth dimension.

The journey toward mental and emotional wellness is deeply intertwined with our spiritual evolution. It requires a fundamental shift in how we communicate—first with ourselves, and then with others.
